Frequently asked questions
What should I wear?
Layered, casual and comfortable attire appropriate for the season. Soft-soled outdoor, work or casual footwear is strongly encouraged. During peak summer months, we also encouraged hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. If rain should start during your trip, a crew member will host your party in our cabin for the remainder of the charter. For hearty souls, bring a rain jacket or poncho and remain on deck.
What is your bad weather and refund policy?
We reserve the right to define the existence of, or the chance of inclement weather. If rain, extreme winds, or storms are taking place or are inbound on the day of your trip, we will ask to reschedule you for a mutaully agreed upon day and time. If rescheduling is not possible, we are happy to refund your total cost less a 10% donation that directly funds our social benefit mission of bringing recreational therapy to the greater military community. Any scheduled excursion cancelled with three or more days notice will receive a full refund.
Can you accommodate passengers with mobility concerns?
Our sailing experince leaves from a floating pier and we have steps to assist in boarding. We can provide assistance boarding, but you must be able to stand and step around low obstacles and be capable of sitting upright in our cockpit, which consists of a padded bench and seat back. We will make every effort to accomodate you or a passenger in your party to mitigate the challenges presented by the physical reality of our vessel.
What can I bring?
Liberty Launch brings the boat, you bring the party! Bring whatever will make your excursion with us more enjoyable, such as sodas and beer (cans please), or wine (all glass bottles must be handled by crew), food, ice, and music. We do have a few exceptions: no illegal drugs (including marijuna), pets, bannas, and walnuts...(those last two are just superstitions folks!).
My name is Ron, or a member of my party is named Ron, is that a problem?
No! We love all our Rons. Watch the movie "Captain Ron" starring Kurt Russel and Martin Short, mention this Q&A, and answer the following for a 10% discount off a single passenger ticket on your next excursion: "are there guerrillas in these woods?"
What about parking?
Ample, free public parking is available immediately adjacent to our dock. Please do not park in the marked, designated parking for the American Legion. A member of our crew will meet and greet your party near the parking area and escort you to the boat.
I have children under the age of 13 in my party.
First, we welcome families with members of all ages. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all, children under the age of 13 must be fitted with the provided USCG approved floatation device. Please let us know how many children, what ages and their approximate weight will be in your party. Children under 13 must be under adult supervision at all times while onboard the vessel.
